I grew up on the Great North Road. It's where the name comes from — a real place, a direction, and a reminder that most worthwhile things involve a journey rather than a destination.

I've spent my career at the intersection of 3D production, pipeline engineering, and product building. I started as a 3D artist and kept finding myself solving problems that didn't fit anyone else's job description — automating render pipelines, designing configurator tools, building products from concept to customer.

I work best in small, capable teams where the craft is respected and the goal is clear. I'm not looking for a job title that fits on a form. I'm looking for the next thing worth building.

BattleBuilder

Configurator & product — ongoing

Custom nameplates for Warhammer and tabletop miniatures. Players were already buying handmade plates on Etsy, but the experience was broken — fill a form, hope for the best, no preview, no certainty.

BattleBuilder solved that with a browser-based configurator that generates the actual STL in real time. What you see on screen is what you print. No interpretation, no surprises.

It sits at the intersection of 3D modelling, web technology, resin printing, and digital commerce — and it's mine end to end, from concept to customer.

WebGL configurators — Onfigr

Panoramic kitchen and interior configurators for some of the largest retailers in the UK, Europe, and North America. Clients include Wren, Howdens, and Starplan in the UK, Cosentino in Spain, and Toll Brothers and MasterBrand in the USA.

The consistent challenge across all of them: producing CGI-quality output at interactive framerates — photorealistic enough that customers feel confident in what they're buying before it's ever built.

My role spanned the full pipeline — designing the roomsets, building and managing the asset library, overseeing rendering and real-time output, and managing client relationships from brief through to delivery.

Swoon Sofa Pipeline

CGI automation — client project

Swoon needed photorealistic CGI images of a sofa across 120 fabric colourways. Doing that manually — rendering each variant individually, renaming files, compositing outputs — would have taken weeks.

Instead I built a pipeline that did it automatically. A Python script handled all render reference renaming inside a Fusion template, integrated with a Deadline render farm so that when each 3ds Max and Corona render finished, it triggered the script and a Fusion composite job. 120 final PNGs, hands-free.

The kind of problem that looks like a production task but is really an engineering one.
